Festival of Death

There was a sense of excitement as the decorations of orange flowers and small skulls were put up, adorning both the festival area and the homes of those who desired to do so. Everyone was curious to see the newborn Life, who hadn’t been seen since the fight against Her where she was reduced to a tiny glowing spirit.

It came as no surprise then that the festival area was even more filled with kukuris and people alike, and Death was already waiting for them there. Despite the restless murmurs, She remained her somber self and let people wander in before speaking. And it only took a single breath of Hers to silence the crowd.

“I never got to truly thank you for your efforts, raising against my sister’s wrath.”
She let her eyes wander on the crowd, the excited humans, the curious kukuris, and the slightly wary aquatics at the edges, not sure if they dared to step closer or not. In a slow, heavy motion she spread her wings… and bowed her head.
“To those who bear scars, to those who lost lives, to those who it brought purpose to, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. You have given me back something I thought I would never see, my sister.”
She let the crowd truly internalize Her words before lifting her head back up again. “I am aware that many of you desire to see Her, and I do too. However, please understand that Her life was long and filled with much pain, a wounded life should be let to rest. And…”
Letting her gaze wander in the festival area, the playgrounds and colorful flowers she let out almost a playful chuckle,
“This is not the environment that She would want to come back to. Dear to me, it is not the taste of my sister, and with you I have learned to embrace that difference between us. There is much I want to show Her, this is true, but I feel it should be done in honor of Her instead of desire of mine.”

From the festival crowds she turned her gaze into the distance, where the old coliseum of Life could barely be seen. The coliseum Death herself had died over as Life attacked those within it, the coliseum where she had trained with everyone to attain this specific moment. The conflict of emotions felt almost bittersweet as she turned back to the crowd.

“When we were young, she built the coliseum not only for fight, but also games to test strength and power. In our absence, it is barely holding on, and we have put it under much stress. For Her to return, I feel we should truly give Her a show of desiring to improve.”
Her face turned into a motherly smile, soft and gentle.
“I have seen the teamwork of everyone here first hand. Do you not think it is time to give Her coliseum a second chance as well?”

The Prompts

Each main prompt has 2 sub prompts. You may do BOTH sub-prompts; i.e "Lets Break Some Stuff (a)" and "Lets Break Some Stuff (b)" count as different prompts
The second sub-prompt is designed with collabs in mind. It allows for, and encourages friendly competition!

Let's break some stuff: The start of any renovation project is arguably the most entertaining part… breaking things. You can't put up new walls without removing the old ones, and what is that? Throw it out! The first steps in the coliseum’s facelift… is to wreck the place!
a) Draw or write about your kukuri helping demolish parts of the coliseum. Do they decide that a particular wall simply had to go? Maybe those columns are just too out of style? Whatever it is… it's time to get rid of it!

b) Draw or write about your kukuri showing off their strength or magic to destroy parts of the coliseum. Do they try to impress someone? Maybe they are competing for the top “Demo expert” title?

Clear out the Dust: There are parts of this old Coliseum that havent been used in a long time… and with all that demolition the parts that ARE used are dirty too. It's time to sweep up and dust off!
a) Draw or write about your kukuri cleaning up after the demo team… do they choke on the dust? Perhaps they turn it into a game?

b) Draw or Write about your kukuri racing to clean their area the fastest! Do they miss a lot of spots or were they flawless? Did they get the hardest to remove debris slowing them down?

From the ground up: Now that the site is clear of the destroyed walls and items, it's time to rebuild… to make the coliseum that much better. Walls need to be built, new racing obstacles or fighting arenas are in order. Lets finish that facelift!
a) Draw or write about your kukuri helping to rebuild the coliseum. Do they help with the new race track? Maybe they help restructure the walls? Or do they get covered in concrete and need rescuing?

b) Draw or write about your kukuri helping with new aquatic or aerial friendly battle stadiums and race tracks Do they help test it? Maybe they are the local aquatic that everyone asks for advice?

The fine details: The majority of the work is done… but you cant call a remodel finished until the finer details are added. Decorations… banners… and some more dangerous and pointy things. Well... this IS Life’s coliseum, some things are bound to be dangerous.
a) Draw or write about your kukuri decorating the newly rebuilt coliseum. Do they hang new banners? Are they a little more in favor of danger and arrange various weapons in the battle stadium?

b) Noita is your judge. Draw or write about your kukuri competing against others to win noita’s favor when decorating an area of the coliseum. Do they get covered in too much glitter? Do they impress the judgemental aerial?

Remembrance: The festival wouldn't be complete without taking the time to remember those that are no longer with us… and this year we also must take the time to honor Life herself; as such, in addition to Death’s traditional statue, a Statue of Life has been added to the festival grounds.
a) Draw or write about your kukuri honoring those that are no longer with us. Do they visit Death’s statue? Life’s? What gift do they bring to the statues?

b) Draw or write about your kukuri offering a gift to either statue. Do they bring skulls and flowers to Death? Weapons or armor pieces to Life’s? Do they visit both?

Companions: As with previous years, to celebrate the taming of the shroomies… now is also a time to spend with your familiars. To play with them, or simply relax… those little friends of ours do more for us then we sometimes give them credit for… so time to thank them.
a) Draw or write about your kukuri spending time with their familiars. Do they enjoy a nice meal together? Maybe they play some games, or simply sleep in the warm sun?

b) Draw or write about your kukuri's familiars competing against other familiars. Does a flying shroomie race a Ra'Kae to see who’s faster? Maybe a Muni and a Mokta compete for how many things they can find!

Posting your entry

Remember that you may post only one entry per week for a feather - whether it is a single entry or taking part in a collab! Make sure to fill all the parts of the form correctly! Failure to do so will delay your entry being rolled.
All entries rolled are eligible for +2 FP event bonus for all kukuris present/showing enough!
