Clown

nCl/ClCl
💧 Aquatic Rarity: Uncommon

Like its name suggests, Clown can create clownfish like bands and rings on the body of the kukuri. These have a dark brim, and a lighter filling.

The dominant form's (ClCl) range is greatly extended. Additionally, the white may fill most of the body, and leave clown band shaped holes with a dark brim.

A guide to Clown

shapes

Clown can create three different styles of shapes:
Full rings, which circle fully around a limb or the body.
Bands, which fall from the back/spine or underside, but don't fully wrap around the body.
Spots, which are free floating spots on the kukuri's body, not connected to the spine at all.

Edges

Clown's brim may use a soft edge when non-dominant. The inner edge must be hard regardless of the outer edge. When Clown is dominant, the outer brim can be a gradient instead.

Sizes

Clown rings and spots/bands all have a min and max size. See above for those sizes.

In clown's dominant form, you can largely fill the body with the lighter color. There must still be clown shaped holes in the marking, permitting the base and all marks below it to show through. These holes need to have the normal dark border. At least 25% of the basecoat must show through the Clown!

The holes made by dominant Clown will allow any markings below them to show through. Dom Clown can hide markings similarly to Piebald or Koi; if you choose to do this, mentioning which marking youve hidden might provve helpful in design approvals.

The example to the right is the following geno and pheno:

Striped Hazel with Bubble, Tailwind and Clown

When dominant clown is combined with Gradient, it can either have a normal gradient effect... or it can cause a reversal of clown color rules allowing the inside to be dark, and the brim to be light!
