Spikes




This mutation creates hard keratin spikes on kukuri's spine, giving them a defensive and offensive boost in combat. As such, the kuku with this mutation inherits +2 defense from the start. The spikes follow same coloring rules as ears and horns - they're technically free, but they follow normal marking coloration limits and mimic the markings on the body.



Modifiying Spikes

Like Scales, Spikes can be moved freely around the body after the design has been approved and uploaded. They can also be made smaller, taller or wider, and they can be edited into plate-like spikes (such as found on stegosaurus). Scroll of Modification is required.

Spikes shouldn't resemble other traits (such as horns, faking double horn mutation etc) and they can't be fully removed either. There should be at least two spikes present on the import. If the spikes are clipping with other traits, such as mane, they can be freely moved.

Common kukuris with maned ruffle have their spikes coming out from the middle of the mane, as they have only one row of spikes.
