Kukuri Magic Mastery

❝ And now, find the path hidden in your soul ❞

Once Kukuri reaches the rank ARISEN, they may be trained to unlock magical abilities. This enables them to use their chosen magic in official entries, and also you may edit them to portray their powers in their import images (excluding GROW, the magic should not obstruct the Kukuri itself more than 10%.) Remember that in unofficial Kukuri entries (official being i.e. events, training, activities, etc.) you may still portray magic however you wish.

How does magic work?

The magical elements your Kukuri can attune to are are divided in two branches: Death’s branch, and Life’s branch. To belong in a branch does not require you to worship said God, or agree with their views, or even believe in their existence. A branch simply portrays at an ethereal level whom you borrow your power from, and it is a lore option you may choose to use if you desire so.

There are four core elements - Death’s branch has the elements AIR and EARTH, while Life’s branch has the elements FIRE and WATER. From these branches, you may specialize further and REFINE your magic. The currently available powers are all which Death is able to unlock within you, and more may become available once Life is reborn. You cannot attune to multiple elements or multiple refinements - your kukuri can select only one path

Core Magic

FIRE
Attuning with fire will allow a kukuri to create it. Their fire will manifest at the temperature of a campfire.

Refined Magic

MAGMA
The ability to create and control volcanic magma.
INFERNO
The ability to control blue fire, hot enough to soften iron, and to an extent can control all fire themselves.
WATER
Attuning with water will allow a Kukuri to create and control it.

TOXIC
Can secrete and withstand toxins and control their lethality.
ICE
Can immediately freeze water, can pull water from air around them to create enough liquid to control it in desired form before freezing it.
AIR
Attuning with air will allow a kukuri to leave its earth-bound state and levitate 10ft from the ground. This talent exhausts the same way as walking does. Kukuri can manifest magical wings without solid form.
THUNDER
Can harness the power of thunder and electricity.
WIND
Can fly freely without the aid of wings and create strong gusts of wind.
EARTH
Attuning with earth allows a kukuri the ability to manipulate earth, lifting rocks with magic alone.

GROWTH
Enables rapid speed growing and control of plants. May also portray rock formations on Kukuri’s body, which can be composed of dirt or rock, and may have plantation growing on top of them.
HEALING
The ability to heal non-fatal wounds.

You need to provide 2 core magic prompts and 2 refined magic prompts to finish their respective trainings. The same prompt can be used twice provided they are unique. Both trainings can be send separately to the completion.

One of the prompts must be done by you for both core and refined paths.

Post your magic training to Training completion when done! Remember to mention is the training for the Core or Refined magic.

This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic
° Draw or write your Kukuri being surrounded by the branch element they’re choosing.
Something happened that made you consider, maybe there’s more to this? Maybe you saw a faint figure of Sometimes it’s… clear that Kukuri is specifically attuned to a certain kind of skill set. Maybe you were always fascinated by the ocean, enjoyed flower fields more than anything, were mom’s lil arsonist, or maybe there was just something fascinating to you about windmills.

III - Learning the Ropes
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kukuri messing up their magic practice. Did they burn a tree, overwater a plant, cause a thunderstorm or did healing magic cause more harm than good?
Practicing magic isn’t easy, and mistakes are bound to happen. Getting things wrong is the first step of learning them properly, but it’s rarely a pleasant situation to be in

IV - Prodigy
This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic

Some kukuris learn magic at a very young age, for some reason or another.

V - When It Was Really Needed
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write your Kukuri using their magic to survive or defend themselves.
For some, the magic appears in time of need. Maybe you had to defend your home or survive a natural catastrophe.

VI - Evolution
This prompt can be used in following training: Refined Magic
° Draw or write about your Kukuri attempting to learn what their core element can become!
Be it natural talent or practiced skill, some kukuri may seek to push ever further beyond the limits! What is better than fire, or water? How can one harness the wind in new ways?  Magic has grand possibilities, why stop at the basics?

VII - With Great Care
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kukuri learning the dangers (or benefits) of their magic.
Magic is both a beautiful and gentle force, as well as a dangerous and destructive one; some more than others. Without enough attention paid, you might find you've accidentally destroyed something you haven't meant to.

VIII - Practicality
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kukuri using their magic to aid them in day to day life.
Flashy as it can be, magic of course has its practical uses. It can aid you in your daily life or greater adventures. Perhaps a kukuri working in a garden might make use of earth magic? Or a fighter utilizing the power of lightning?

IX - From the Source
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kukuri trying to wield their element from its source
Understanding the power you wield is sometimes as simple as experiencing it in its rawest form. Be it the small light of a candle fire or the raging waves of the ocean, trying to harness such forces can lead to a better understanding of your magic… or destruction.

X - Study
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kukuri studying magic (be it books, or their own magic)
Sometimes a practice of physicality doesn't work for everyone… rather reading, writing, and spending quiet time to understand the task at hand is a better approach. Maybe sitting down and observing or reading was all it took to understand what you needed to do to use your magic?

XI - If You First Don't Succeed
This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic - Earth
° Draw or write about your kukuri gardening for the first time. Do they murder their plants with too much water? Or maybe they just stare at them intently hoping that they'll start growing in front of their eyes.
Some kukuris are born with a green thumb, some... not so much. But just because you weren't born with it doesn't mean you can't be amazing in it!

XII - Little Pyromaniac
This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic - Fire
° Draw or write about your Kukuri getting in contact with fire for the first time. Did they burn their fingers in a campfire, or was sitting on it comfortably easy? Did they set themselves in fire?
Fire is a dangerous element to meet in nature, yet provides warmth and safety all the same.

XIII - Dipping Bobbing Diving
This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic - Water
° Draw or write your Kukuri trying to swim for the first time. Did they almost drown, or did floating come easy to them? Were they thrown off a ship and forced to learn, or did water fascinate them from the beginning?
Water is all around us, and yet it feels that some of us sink so much easier than others.

XIV - Flimsy
This prompt can be used in following training: Core Magic - Air
° Draw or write your Kukuri getting caught in a strong gusts of wind. Was it a nearing tornado and thunderstorms, or a sudden burst that would knock a lesser man off their feet? In Soviet Atmosphere, air breaths you

XV - Precision
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your kuku learning to tame their magic and mold it to their liking.
It's easy to be chaotic - but a true master of their element can wield their magic in predictable, organized ways. Precision is not just a thing for show, to mold fun and pretty shapes. In a time of need, will you trust someone spreading a tornado of flames, or the one sending a thin bolt to maneuver around their allies?

XVI - Reconsideration
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write your Kukuri being hurt by their powers and healing from them. Does it make them hate their powers, or be afraid of them? Did they scar themselves and vow to never use magic like that? Or was it kinda cool and they bounced right back in?
With power comes responsibility, and sometimes we need to learn the limits the hard way.

XVII - Or Live Long Enough To See Yourself Become A
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write your Kukuri using magic in a battle.
Not everyone use their magic for good. Sometimes they choose to do chaos with it, or they're forced to protect themselves with their gentle hands. Magic is the answer for many things, and in this case violence is the question.

XVIII - Friendly Competition
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your Kukuri participating in a Challenge/ Competition. Are they racing through the air? Seeing who grows the most extravagant Flowers? Testing who can manipulate their Flames best to create fantastical shapes?
Another Arisen Kukuri is required to be included in this prompt.
Studying alone is not for everyone, and sometimes you just really want to test your skills against others.

XVIV - Senpai
This prompt can be used in following training: All
° Draw or write about your Kukuri searching for/finding their "teacher" to help them learn their Element/overcome their struggles. It may be another Kukuri who is proficient in said Element or even another creature. Your Kukuri could learn Flying from a bird, fire from a dragon or lava from a geologist. They could learn about plants from a gardener/botanist or they could learn about toxins from a frog or plant.
Sometimes we just need help of an another being to make that something click.
